About Hannibal
Safari Equipment
Compared to many of the other safari
camping equipment companies, Hannibal is a recent
new comer to the industry. However, in that relatively
short period of time, they have brought a number of
new innovations to the industry. In the 10 years that
they have been in business they have continued to
improve upon existing designs, while brining unique
innovative products to the market such as their self-supporting
fold-out awnings and lightweight aluminum roof rack
systems.

Hannibal Roof
Racks
Hannibal Makes Roof Racks for a variety
of proven expedition vehicle platforms, such as the
Land Rover product line, Toyota Land Cruisers and
Jeeps. Each roof rack is made of heavy-duty, yet light
weight aluminum. While Hannibal roof racks sent to
the rest of the world feature a natural finish, most
Hannibal racks imported to North America are finished
in a black powdercoated finish.
Hannibal Roof racks are built with an
open front to allow for easy mounting of a roof top
tent. Current generation of Hannibal racks also feature
removable side and rear rails for additional roof
top tent mounting flexibility.
The combination of an open front design,
and wide front to back steps helps to minimize wind
resistance while driving, while also providing a wide
walking surface on the rack. In addition, the most
recent versions of the Hannibal roof rack feature
extruded aluminum channels, such as those found on
the African Outback roof racks to allow ease of mounting.

Hannibal Awnings
Hannibal awnings are probably out favorite
product in the Hannibal line. Where as most other
vehicle mounted awnings require a complex set up with
ground poles and support wires, the Hannibal awning
sets up quickly and easily using an innovative set
of self-supporting poles.
Set up on a Hannibal awning is quick
and easy, and the result is a strong shelter from
the rain and sun, that you won't mind setting up for
even the quickest of lunch stops.
The Hannibal awning is available in
3 different lengths of 5', 7' and 8'. You should select
the awning based upon the overall length of the vehcicle
and roof rack. For example the shorter wheelbase Defender
90 and Discovery I are only able to accomodate the
5' awning. However, the additional roofline length
of the Discovery II allows for the fitment of the
longer 7' awning. The 8' will only fit on long wheelbase
vehicles such as the Defender 110.
In addition, you have the option of
purchasing each awning size with or without side curtains. |

Hannibal Roof
Top Tents
In addition to their roof racks and
awnings, Hannibal also produces a line high quality
roof top tents. These tents feature a similar design
to the majority of South African roof top tents.
The Hannibal tent features u-zipped
openings on either end of the tents, as well as a
removable rainfly. Inside the tent is a high-density
foam mattress, complete with zip off cover for easy
washing. The tents are available in both ground ladder
and bull bar mount ladder configurations.
Hannibal tents are available in two
sizes: the 1.2 meter tent (48" wide) and the
1.4 meter (56" wide. Both versions feature the
same closed length of 1.2 meters, which opens up to
become a 2.4 meter (96") long sleeping surface |
